Many have changed since the Great Pacific Earthquake on March 11, 2011. The damage was enormous and there were too many victims and sacrifices. In such difficult times, Sendai city has been fortunate to be able to regain most its functions, and Tohoku University is not an exception.
This picture of the Tohoku University Student Exchange division office was taken right after the earthquake.
Now it looks like this.
Our office was able to recovery quite fast: water, electricity within a week from the earthquake, and gas came back after a month had passed.

It is the cherry blossom season at Sendai city.
Tohoku Univeristy Kawauchi Campus is located a bit further down the street in this picture below.
While walking down the street, we encountered a high school holding its Entrance Ceremony.
Walking further down the street and entering Kawauchi Campus, there were university students enjoying tennis.
Stores in the university are open regularly. This picture shows the entrance of the university store.
